MISS KATHY MILLER - Director - Miss Kathy has been an instructor for 39 years and is experienced in all styles of dance. She is currently the Director of Positively Dance Performance and Competition Team. Miss Kathy's choreography has received numerous high score awards and placements at both Regional and National level competitions over the years. She has studied and performed with many well known dancers across the nation, as well as helped many dancers achieve their own dreams of becoming professional dancers themselves. This year Miss Kathy will not be teaching regular classes and has decided to oversee each studio more closely so that she can better get to know all of her students at MKSOD, as well as provide some mentoring to her teaching staff. Miss Kathy is excited for the upcoming dance season and as always strives not only to educate the students at MKSOD on dance technique and skill, but also to help those students gain the self-confidence needed to take the stage with a smile at recital.

MISS MACKENZIE BUNN started out dancing at MKSOD for 14 years! She was also a member of Positively Dance Performance and Competition Team as well. She is experienced in Clogging, Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Modern, Lyrical, and Early Education Dance. MacKenzie is a graduate of Paw Paw High School and is attending Kalamazoo Valley Community College to study business. She has transitioned into the role of teacher at MKSOD and is also an Instructor for Positively Dance Performance and Competition Team. Her choreography has received several 1st and 2nd place Regional and National Awards. She has also been honored to have her choreography chosen to perform on Disney's Beauty and the Beast stage. Miss MacKenzie's excitement for dance is contagious and shows in her the students she teaches. She is looking forward to a new season at MKSOD!
MISS AMANDA HEWITT has been dancing since the age of 2 years old! She is disciplined in Acro, Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Lyrical. She is also an instructor for Positively Dance Performance and Competition Team, where her choreography has received many 1st and 2nd Regional and National Awards, as well as several Best Choreography nominations. Miss Amanda began her dance career at her Mother's dance studio prior to furthering her education at MKSOD. She has also previously taught for the Paw Paw Community Education Gymnastic and Dance Program for 5 years and coached the competitive cheerleading and dance teams for Paw Paw High School for 7 years. Miss Amanda is eager to help her dancers reach their full potential, and looks forward to challenging her students with new stunts and lifts this year!
MISS HEIDI WILLIAMS began her dance training 20 years ago in Alpena, MI! She is experienced in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Modern, Pointe, Musical Theatre, Contemporary, and Breakdance. She is an Instructor for Positively Dance Performance and Competition Team, where her choreography has received numerous 1st and 2nd place awards at Regional and National Competitions over the years. Hiss Heidi has taught at her home studio, Powerhouse Youth Ministries, and the Magnify Dance Company. She has worked in professional theatre prior to transferring to Western Michigan University, where she received her Bachelor Degree in Arts and Science. Miss Heidi has taught choreography to many different groups such as the Boys and Girls Club, HD Effect Dance Crew, and Portage Northern Dance Team. She often travels throughout the country to take workshops and study with many of today's top choreographers to stay current with the evolving dance culture. Miss Heidi is excited for another great year at MKSOD!
MISS MALLORY COX started dancing at the age of 4 years old! She is experienced in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Clogging, Lyrical, Musical Theatre, and Christian Praise. Miss Mallory is the Assistant Director of Positively Dance Performance and Competition Team where she has choreographed many dances for parades, performances, and competitions! Her choreography for solos, duos, and group dances has earned many awards at both Regional and National Competitions. She is a former student of Miss Kathy's School of Dance and was also a member of Positively Dance Troupe and performed with the Competition Team. Her love of dance led her to begin teaching at MKSOD where she has become a great asset! She is currently attending Southwestern Michigan College and is looking forward to teaching full time this year. Miss Mallory enjoys watching her dancers work hard throughout the year and takes pleasure in seeing their efforts pay off when they take the stage at recital.
MR ZACHARY COX began dancing at the age of 10 years old. He is experienced in Ballet, Tap, Jazz Hip Hop, Lyrical, Modern, Clogging, Acro, and Breakdance! Mr. Zach was a student at MKSOD and was a member of the Positively Dance Performance and Competition Team. While on the Competition Team Mr. Zach was named Mr. NexStar 2010 at the NexStar Competition! He also received multiple awards over the years including his most recent, being 4th runner up to the 2010 Senior Male Dancer of the Year at DanceAmerica, where he also received 1st place Regional and National awards for his Hip Hop Solo. Mr. Zach's love for dance has led him to teach at MKSOD, as well as train our Positively Dance Competition Team. Mr. Zach is known for his challenging and strenuous workouts, and his positive motivation. He hopes to return to teaching later this year after making a full recovery and looks forward to stopping by to see his students and sit in on classes as soon as he is able.
MISS EMILY RUMPF has danced for over 18 years! She is experienced in Ballet, Pointe, Modern, Lyrical, Tap, and Jazz. Miss Emily is a graduate of Western Michigan University with a Bachelors Degree in Dance and Elementary Education. She attended the Southhold Dance Theatre for 16 years. As a company member she focused primarily on Ballet and Modern dance styles. She has trained with the Joffery Ballet, New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, and Pacific Northwest Ballet. She continues to perform as a member of the dance department at Western Michigan University. Miss Emily is teaching more classes this year and is very excited to be educating the students with her love of ballet and helping them to perfect their technique. She is looking forward to another great year at MKSOD!
MISS PAULINA YU is a student at MKSOD, taking on her 14th year of dance! She has studied almost every style of dance offered, including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Acro, Clogging, Modern, Hip Hop, Lyrical, and Pointe. She has been a member of Positively Dance Performance and Competition Team for 6 years and was nominated this year for "Dancer of the Year" at Nationals. She is currently a Senior at Paw Paw High School and plans to further study dance in college. She has been an assistant for Miss Amanda for many years and is currently beginning her second year of teaching here at MKSOD. Miss Paulina is very excited to begin this new season and looks forward to meeting her new students!
MISS MARY GREEN began dancing at the age of 5. She has studied Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Clogging, Hip Hop, Acro, Lyrical, and Modern. She began Assistant Teaching just a few years after she began dancing. At the age of 10 Mary joined Positively Dance Performance team, and then the Competition team, of which she is still a member. She has competed solos at the National level three times and has been nominated twice for the Dancer of the Year award. When Mary is not attending or teaching dance classes, she is the Drum Major for the Cassopolis High School Band and the Reporter for the Cassopolis FFA Chapter. Miss Mary is very eager to meet her new students and is looking forward to a great year at MKSOD.
MISS MARISA KARASCH began her dance career at Miss Kathy's School of Dance, where she danced for 15 years. She was also a member of the Positively Dance Performance Team. She is experienced in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Acro, Clogging, Lyrical, and Modern. Miss Marisa attended Lansing Community College for two years where she danced and performed with their dance team. This is her first year teaching at MKSOD and she is excited to get started and looks forward to meeting her students and challenging them this year.
MISS DIANA CHIDDISTER began dancing at the age of 4 in Indiana, where she lived until moving to Michigan in the 2nd grade. She studied Ballet, Tap, and Jazz at The Kalamazoo Ballet Co. and also took lessons in Baton, music and voice, and participated in many plays and musicals. She performed on Channel 3 Club House with her sister Cindy from 7-9 yrs old. As a dancer she competed and placed 1st in many competitions and also took gymnastics and was a cheerleader at Paw Paw High School. She later taught at the Meeth Dance Studio as well as owned and operated the Paw Paw Dance Co., and also taught at the Paw Paw Community Education Dance Program. She has choreographed for the Miss Lawton and Miss Paw Paw pageants. Dance has been a major part of Miss Diana's life and she believes that it not only helps to express oneself but also leads to self confidence. Miss Diana is happy to be teaching at MKSOD and believes that the more fun she can make it for her students, the faster they will learn!
MISS RACHAEL KIDMAN danced at MKSOD for 13 years before graduating this past year. She has studied Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Clogging, and Lyrical, as well as attended workshops in other disciplines such as Modern, Hip Hop, and Contemporary. She was a member of Postively Dance Performance Team for 6 years and competed her senior year as well. She is currently a student at Southwestern Michigan College, pursuing an Associates Degree before transferring to obtain a degree in Secondary Education, specializing in teaching the deaf and hearing impaired. Miss Rachael began teaching last year at MKSOD and is looking forward to seeing her previous students as well as meeting her new students this year. She can't wait to have fun with her unpredictable little dancers, and to see all their growth this year!
MISS LINDSEY SCOTT started dancing at 3 yrs old in Livonia, MI. She is experienced in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical/Contemporary, and Musical Theater. She is currently a student at Western Michigan University studying psychology and dance. Miss Lindsey began teaching 3 years ago at Steps Dance Center in Portage, MI. and danced competitively for 11 years with Planetdance. She has taken classes from Ian Eastwood, Robert Hoffman, Dennis and Dee Caspary, and Chachi Gonzales, as well as performed in the Thanksgiving Day Lions game performances for Jesse McCartney and Kid Rock, and danced in the Pistons game with Planetdome. Miss Lindsey is excited to meet her students and we are excited to have her teaching here at MKSOD!
